Usage – General
Because of it’s high solubility, Mag Chloride is normally administered via the drinking water. It can also be added to the TMR diet. It is most commonly used with Dry Cows, to help maintain anionic / cationic balance (DCAB) and assist in preventing Milk Fever. It is also used as a source of Magnesium prior to turn out and during periods when lush grass is being fed. Mag Chloride may also be administered as a drench.
Dairy Cows (at turn out)
Typically, dissolve 250 grams of Mag Chloride per 100 litres of water. Alternatively add 250 gms/head/day to the TMR diet.
To help maintain anionic / cationic balance (DCAB), Mag Chloride is typically fed at 60 – 100 grams/head/day during the 2 – 3 week period prior to calving. It can be added to the drinking water or as part of a TMR diet.
Beef & Sheep
Mag Chloride is not widely used with beef or sheep although it can be a convenient way of administering Magnesium (via the drinking water) to Suckler Cows prior to turn out. In most cases, other sources of Magnesium are preferred.
Dry Matter 99 %

Handling & Storage: Mag Chloride is supplied in poly bags. It should be stored in a cool, dry place. Because of its hydroscopic nature, Mag Chloride may go lumpy if stored for extended periods.
